During the COVID-19 pandemic, video calling quickly became a normal part of everyday life – for families, workplaces and public bodies alike. Even the Houses of Parliament held virtual sessions, with Boris Johnson joining remotely.
The platform making headlines at the time was Zoom.
Zoom itself reported that daily active users rose from around 10 million to more than 200 million during March.
In the UK, BBC Breakfast TV reported that 13 million people were using Zoom and choosing it as their preferred video chat provider. Off the back of that wider shift, we’ve also moved our video appointments across to Zoom so that clients can speak to us face to face without needing to travel.
Our Zoom video appointments are designed to be simple to join, while still feeling professional and reassuring. Seeing who you’re speaking with helps create a more personal conversation, and using a familiar platform can give extra confidence when discussing something important.
If you’ve never used Zoom before, you don’t need to be particularly technical. We’ll send you an invitation link in advance, and you can join from a laptop, tablet or smartphone. In most cases, it’s just a case of clicking the link, checking your camera and microphone, and selecting “Join” at the time of your appointment – essentially how to set up a Zoom meeting in the simplest way.
We use Zoom for video consultations because it gives us a reliable way to meet remotely while keeping the experience clear, direct and secure. If you’d prefer a video call rather than a phone appointment, just let us know and we’ll arrange a time that suits you.
