You’ve probably already heard plenty of different—and conflicting—answers about your timeshare.
If you contact your timeshare group/resort about getting out of your contract, handing it back, or even trying to sell, remember who you’re asking: the very people with the most to lose. Your timeshare contract—often running for another 40 or 50 years, or even in perpetuity—is worth a lot of money to them (see how much here). That creates a clear incentive to keep you as a fee-paying customer, so the “advice” you receive can be biased. We also often hear that resorts use these conversations to push more sales, by attempting to “upgrade” or replace existing contracts with new products such as fractional ownership. Be cautious.
Timeshare Advice Centre is different. We’re an entirely independent organisation providing unbiased, expert advice and services. We are not funded by—and are not “partners with”—timeshare groups/resorts, industry lobby bodies, resellers, or any other party that benefits from your ongoing payments.

When many owners first bought, they were promised their timeshare “investment” would hold its value—or even rise—and could be sold later. Those promises were often also used to justify why the agreement should be in perpetuity. In reality, a timeshare contract typically has no practical resale value. One simple indicator is the volume of timeshares listed for almost nothing on sites such as eBay that still don’t sell. You can see examples here.
This is also why “timeshare resale” companies so often charge up front. They know buyers are unlikely to appear, and their income comes from listing fees. If you’re considering your options, start with your Timeshare Exit Options today.
A better question is: What is my timeshare contract worth to my timeshare resort/group?
As above, timeshare usually has no resale value. However, your contract can have significant value to the resort/group because it (a) may still have a long term to run and (b) typically includes a legal requirement for you to pay ongoing—and often increasing—maintenance fees at a level set by the timeshare group/resort, for the remainder of the contract. This is where Timeshare Advice Centre can help. Our team has extensive experience advising timeshare owners on how to exit a timeshare and completing a full and final exit from timeshare contracts across the UK, Europe, and worldwide. Once completed, you and your family can be free from your timeshare commitments, with no further fee liabilities to the relevant timeshare group/resort.
Every case is different. The first step in getting out of a timeshare contract is to request your Timeshare Exit Options today. We can then confirm whether—and how—we can help you. Our guidance is independent and unbiased, with no connection to resorts, groups, or bodies that benefit (directly or indirectly) from your ongoing timeshare fee payments.
We have many years of experience helping owners get out of unwanted timeshare, points, or fractional contracts with groups/resorts throughout the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world. We’ve had particular success supporting customers of Diamond Resorts International, Club La Costa/CLC, RCI, Silverpoint, Marriott, Resort Properties, and Wimpen, among others.

For most owners who come to us, the priority is exiting the timeshare contract. However, Timeshare Advice Centre can also advise on the growing range of potential avenues for timeshare compensation claims against timeshare resorts and groups.
Every case is different. A wide range of factors can affect the work involved—and therefore the cost—of arranging for you to fully, finally, and legally exit your contract. What we can say is this: we will only take on your case (whether for exiting your timeshare contract, pursuing a compensation claim, or both) if we are confident we can successfully complete the process on your behalf.
While we can help in the vast majority of cases, there are certain timeshare contracts we are not currently able to deal with. For an independent view of where you stand and how we can help, please see your Timeshare Exit Options today.
