Many owners have already paid their 2020 timeshare maintenance fees but, with resorts unavailable for long periods, a key question now is whether you’ll be expected to pay maintenance fees for 2021 as well.
As far as we’re aware, not a single resort has offered a maintenance fee refund. Some have provided credit notes towards a future stay, but that may only shift the problem. With owners trying to rebook missed 2020 time and plan 2021 holidays, availability over the next 12 months could become even more difficult.
Where a paid-for service cannot be provided, consumers may have a right to a refund.
The Timeshare Consumer Association (TCA) has launched a campaign to collect information from timeshare owners about their maintenance fees and the impact of resort closures, with the aim of pursuing maintenance fee refunds for those affected. Hundreds of surveys have already been submitted.
- DID YOU PAY YOUR MAINTENANCE FEES FOR 2020?
- HAVE YOU MISSED OUT ON USING YOUR TIMESHARE THIS YEAR?
- WOULD YOU LIKE TO FIND OUT WHETHER YOU COULD GET THESE FEES BACK?
If you answered YES, we strongly encourage you to complete the survey.
