As 2020 came to an end and 2021 got under way, we recorded a strong run of timeshare court victories across several defendants, including Club La Costa and Silverpoint.
In total, we secured seven favourable substantive judgments against Club La Costa (Paradise Trading, Continental Resorts and Sucursal). Taken together, these Club La Costa court victories resulted in £164,230 being awarded across the seven cases.
Over the same period, we also achieved successful outcomes in additional matters involving other timeshare businesses. These included cases against Silverpoint, Diamond Resorts and Tasolán, with a further combined total of £78,260 awarded across those three cases.
Alongside these compensation outcomes, our legal team were also active on jurisdiction decisions, which can be a key step in progressing a claim through the courts. Over the past fortnight alone, we received 11 favourable jurisdiction judgments.
Breaking the jurisdiction results down: one was against Silverpoint SL, two were against Diamond Resorts, and the remaining eight were against Club La Costa. The contractual names in the Club La Costa matters were CLC Sucursal and CLC Continental, with one Club La Costa case also involving Hitachi Capital PLC.
Together, these results reflect a busy period of litigation activity spanning both substantive judgments (where awards were made) and jurisdiction decisions (which address whether a court can hear a case). For readers following Club La Costa compensation claims and developments such as a Silverpoint timeshare court ruling, these updates provide a clear snapshot of outcomes recorded during late 2020 and early 2021.
