Two of our largest court awards last week were in Silverpoint Vacations matters. In the first Silverpoint Vacations court case, the court awarded almost £40,000 (a total of £39,511). A second Silverpoint case resulted in an award of £35,880. In both matters, the court ruled contract nullity, finding that the agreements lacked key information and did not meet the legal requirements.
These outcomes form part of a wider set of hearings last week. Three separate CLC substantive cases were also heard in court under the contractual names CLC Sucursal and CLC Paradise Trading. Taken together, the awards across those three cases totalled £37,383.
In addition, we secured four further favourable jurisdiction judgments against Club La Costa, with the contractual names CLC PLC and CLC Sucursal. These jurisdiction decisions address whether the court is the correct forum to hear the dispute and can be an important step in moving a case forward.
