M1 Legal secures £405k in one week as 21 Spanish timeshare contracts ruled null and void

M1 Legal’s associates have confirmed a record week of timeshare claim awards, with clients securing more than £405,000 in total. Most cases were brought against well-known European timeshare companies, with an average award of around €19,000.

In total, 21 Spanish timeshare contracts were declared null and void by the Spanish courts. Spanish consumer protection law introduced in 2015 strengthened safeguards against illegal timeshare practices. If you hold a Spanish timeshare contract dated after 5 January 1999, you could potentially be entitled to a lump-sum award.

M1 Legal on Track for a Record Year

Since January 2021, M1 Legal has secured 139 awards valued at £2.4 million — almost double the amount achieved in the same period last year.

With pubs and other non-essential businesses reopening, there may be a sense of light at the end of the Covid tunnel. However, booking a holiday at a timeshare resort this year may prove extremely difficult. With many owners missing out on nearly two years of breaks, resorts are likely to be dealing with a backlog for years to come.
