- Are you planning to travel to your timeshare resort this year?
- Are you prepared to wear a face covering throughout your journey, including in airports and on the plane?
- Are you prepared for long waits in the airport — potentially four hours at a time?
- Are you prepared for limited, reduced or even closed resort facilities on arrival?
- Are you prepared to quarantine for 14 days on your return to the UK?
- Sunbed availability can be limited at the best of times — now factor in mandatory two-metre distancing.
DON’T FORGET SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES (2 METRES)
Millions of people with holiday plans have decided not to travel and are now seeking refunds or credit notes so they can re-book for a later date.
For timeshare owners, the issue is that many resorts are refusing refunds. Promises that you can “use it later” could quickly turn into an availability nightmare.
Even if borders begin opening in some countries, how realistic is it to enjoy a holiday abroad with the safety measures and restrictions above?
You may have seen in a previous newsletter that the Timeshare Consumer Association (TCA) has launched a campaign to try to pressure resorts into paying back 2020 maintenance fees when owners have been unable to benefit from their membership. Are you affected by this — and, more importantly, are you willing to pay 2021 fees if you couldn’t use your timeshare in 2020 (and possibly 2021 too)?
Hundreds of affected owners have already submitted their details. If you’re affected and want to add your voice, we strongly recommend completing the short survey below.
